FAQ

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic is the practice of treating physical problems relating to bones, joints, tendons, tissues, and other pieces of the body related to movement and health function.

What can chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care can help with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, sports injuries, carpal tunnel, and joint pain. It can also improve mobility, posture, and overall wellness.

What is a chiropractic adjustment, and how long do they take?

Chiropractic adjusting is the art of manipulating the spine using precise direction and application. It’s a safe and natural procedure to help relieve pain, realign bones or tissues, and improve function.

Appointments can take anywhere from 15–60 minutes, depending on your issue and the pain you’re feeling. Dr. Lords will assess your pain and discuss treatment plans after every appointment, as well as provide at-home tips for continued support.

Are chiropractic adjustments and care safe?

Absolutely. While your first appointment could feel nerve-wracking, the doctor is gentle and lets you know exactly what to expect. Not all problems are solved in 1 visit. Many times, patients set up visits in the following days, weeks, or months for continued progress.

What should I wear to a chiropractic appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement. Avoid tight jeans, bulky jackets, or restrictive clothing to ensure a smooth and comfortable adjustment.

Can chiropractic care help with headaches or migraines?

Yes, chiropractic adjustments can relieve tension, reduce nerve irritation, and improve spinal alignment, which may help reduce the frequency and intensity of headaches or migraines.

Is chiropractic care only for adults?

No, chiropractic care is safe for all ages, including children and seniors. It can help with posture, mobility, and overall spinal health at any stage of life.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits depends on your condition, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Some patients feel better after one visit, while others require ongoing care for long-term improvement. Dr. Lords will discuss a personalized plan with you.
